Firefighter Rescue Training
Firefighters are called on when someone needs help, be it a fire or a rescue. Who do firefighters call for help? Other firefighters! One of our monthly training sessions for July was for those times. We practiced calling for help and different drag techniques. We also practiced quickly removing the bulky protective equipment we wear for fires, specifically to perform CPR.
Wedington assists Farmington on House Fire
Wedington responded an engine and tanker to assist Farmington with a house fire on March 10th. No one was injured but the house was severely damaged.
Wedington Firefighters assisted Wheeler.
Wedington assisted Wheeler on a recreational vehicle fire on Sunday afternoon. The owner was checked by an ambulance for smoke inhalation. If you have a fire, please stay away and call 911. No cause has been determined.
Kidde recalls fire extinguishers
Kidde recalls 38 million fire extinguishers Please read this link and ensure you don’t have one of these extinguishers The recall involves 134 models of Kidde fire extinguishers manufactured between January 1, 1973 and August 15, 2017.

Safety Awareness Day! May 13th 2-4pm

Spaghetti Dinner results
Thank you to all that came to support the Wedington Fire Department and had some great spaghetti! We served 322 dinners! That is a new record! We are so thankful for the community support! We hope if you ever require our help that we can give as much back.
